Have you recently been driving along Government, Blanshard, Douglas, or any other busy Victoria street and felt blinded by a large fluorescent green truck with revolving mobile billboards?
We were recently introduced to this new form of “mobile billboard advertising” and found it quite interesting. Compared to traditional static billboard advertising that you see every time you drive to and from the ferry, this form of advertising is quite literally “in your face”, as it strategically cruises up and down Victoria’s main streets during heavy traffic hours. So whether you’re going for a stroll, sipping coffee by the window at your favorite cafe, or blatantly stuck behind this beast in traffic on your way home from work, you can’t help but stare at what it’s promoting.
We’ve seen this truck around town and thought it was a refreshing approach towards getting your message to consumers and generating brand awareness. If it’s right for the Victoria market is a whole other question worth pondering…. Of course we’re in the business of building brand awareness, so we’ve had numerous conversations around the office on this advertising medium. Do you consider this an effective form of advertising? Have you seen this truck around town lately? Feel free to comment and let us know your opinion on it, or share other non-traditional advertising outlets you’ve seen out there.
