This week we celebrated Kristine’s upcoming B-day, (no, not HER birthday, but her Baby’s birth day). As a tribute to her last week with the agency, we mocked up Kristine on the cover of her favourite business read, Marketing Mag.
We were all surprised last summer to find out Kristine was an expecting mother-to-be. Can someone carry a baby in four inch heels we wondered? As the months passed and we watched Kristine glow and grow, it became evident that she is definitely ready to project manage a new challenge. Her positive attitude and energy is an inspiration to all of us (she only missed one day, despite being sick for months) and the only time she let out a sigh or groan was near the end, bending down to reach into her filing cabinets.
We also learned a trick or two, like drinking organic raspberry tea by the pot might make your baby arrive sooner – or so she says?
Today is Kristine’s last day before going on maternity leave and I had the chance to catch up with her and get the lowdown on her pregnancy and outlook for the coming year.
(A) How long have you worked here (easy question)?
(K) 4.5 years – wow time sure does fly by past in the advertising world!
(A) What is the best and or worst part about being pregnant?
(K) Is there supposed to be a good part? The worst part is not being able to eat sushi! Oh yeah, and hiding it from everyone for the first three months even though I was running to the bathroom every morning to get sick.
(A) What will you miss most about Eclipse?
(K) Pizza lunch brainstorms and the unique talents of each Eclipser:
Jenny’s ‘early’ morning energy
Chris’s paper shredding
Dave’s Bollywood dancing impersonations
Shonna’s fresh juice drinks
Aldea’s running inspiration
Simon’s British wit
Jonathan’s chicken pot pie runs
Ariel’s quiet, calm nature
(A) What won’t you miss?
(K) I love it all! I wouldn’t be in the industry if I didn’t mind constant deadlines, quick turn arounds and the occasional late night.
(A) Have you had any odd or different cravings?
(K) Jonathan and Dave got me hooked on chicken pot pies for a while… but, nothing out of the ordinary.
From all of us here at the agency, we wish Kristine the best of luck for the next couple weeks and the coming year, and can’t wait to meet the new family member!
